Worship Pastor

The Worship Pastor, under the oversight of the Senior Pastor and in partnership with the ministry staff, will give the primary leadership for leading the congregation to carry out our purpose by corporately glorifying God through worship. The Worship Pastor shall oversee and coordinate all the details that a service encompasses. The Worship Pastor shall ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of worship gatherings are planned in advance. He or she will oversee song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all band members, instrumentalists, and vocalists. He or she will be the primary lead in congregational worship. We offer a competitive salary with a generous benefits package including family health insurance and retirement.
The Worship Pastor Will:
  • Plan and lead engaging traditional and contemporary Sunday morning services in conjunction with ministry staff and the worship team.
  • Oversee the worship ministry which includes technical and media support for worship services (sound, lighting, video projection, sermon slides, etc.).
  • Develop individuals who serve as interns, apprentices, or volunteers on the worship team.
  • Provide leadership in the worship ministry including recruiting individuals, conducting, rehearsing, and overseeing unpaid and paid worship staff.
  • Develop, train, and oversee vocal and instrumental worship teams including student worship.
  • Plan special worship services.
  • Oversee the worship ministry budget.
  • Give pastoral care to the worship ministry.
  • Actively participate in FBC’s disciple-making ministry through life groups.
  • Assist in funerals, weddings, and other occasions as needed.

Education & Experience
  • Appropriate music and ministry training.
  • Bachelor’s degree is necessary.
  • Theological training is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years successful ministry experience as a Worship Director/Pastor, Assistant Worship Director/Pastor, or similar position.
  • Technical ability with sound, lighting, computers, projection systems, cameras, live streaming, and social media platforms.

  • Interest and ability to lead various styles to include modern music and hymns.
  • Competence in choral, vocal, and instrumental direction.
  • Skilled in the utilization of technology in worship: sound, lighting, computers, ProPresenter, Planning Center, live streaming, and online video platforms.
  • A self-starter, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to incorporate other art forms, as needed.
  • A team player with a positive attitude who develops leaders.
