Love God, Love Others, Go and Make Disciples
As a youth ministry, we strive to give kids a safe place to connect with God, their faith, and their peers. Our team of youth leaders work diligently and selflessly to disciple students in hopes that students would not just be temporary disciples but lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. We do this by living out our 3 values: Love like Family, Pursue Jesus, and Be on Mission. What do all those things mean? Glad you asked…
Love Like Family
Matthew 22 calls us as believers in Jesus Christ, to love God, and to love others. Our goal at FBC is to have students treat everyone who walks through our doors like part of the family. That means we want you to feel welcome, included, and free to share what’s going on in your world.
Pursue Jesus
Matthew 22 also calls us to love the Lord with all our hearts. In order to love God well, we need to be in constant pursuit of a relationship with Him. We do that by presenting God’s word in a sound, relevant, and personal way both on Sunday mornings and Sunday nights.
Be on Mission
Make Disciples
Matthew 28 gives us instructions to go into the world to make disciples and baptize them. Making disciples and baptizing them is hard to do if we don’t go. Being on Mission means that as we are loving people and pursuing Jesus, we are going where God calls us to go. Jesus did not keep the 12 disciples in one location, He sent them out to proclaim the Gospel to all the world and we have been called to do the same.
Matthew 28 also calls us to make disciples. Discipleship as modeled by Jesus, looks like mature believers doing life with new or non-believers in hopes of walking and living more like Jesus.
